Athletic Administrator/Head Men and Women Cross –Country/Track and Field Coach & Strength & Conditioning Coach (Req. #1418)

Caldwell University invites applications for a full-time Athletic Administrator/Head Men and Women Cross –Country/Track and Field Coach & Strength & Conditioning Coach. Responsible to the Assistant VP and Director, Athletics, for serving as recreation and intramural coordinator, facilitator of Student-Athlete Affairs programming and supervisor of athletic home events, and for serving as Head Men and Women Cross Country/Track and Field Coach.

Administrator job duties include, but are not limited to;

  • Work with the Assistant Vice President, Athletics in the administration of the Athletics Department.
  • Administer and supervise home athletic events and contests. Ensure staffing and the facility have been adequately – prepared for events. Deal directly with all officials and event personnel.
  • Oversee and monitor the day-today activities of the Fitness Center. Open and close the facility.
  • Supervise and assign work to student employees including, but not limited to fitness center workers as well as student workers for the equipment room and coverage for all home athletic contests.
  • Train and supervise fitness center staff. Schedule work hours.
  • Ensure that equipment is properly maintained.
  • Strength and Conditioning Coach to develop exercise program for students. Work with all coaching staff and student athletes to develop conditioning programming.
  • Maintain knowledge of athletic and fitness training programs.

Head Coach duties include, but are not limited to;

  • Developing and executing the team philosophy.
  • Advising the coaching staff and student athletes on NCAA rules and policies. Working with the Associate Director to ensure ongoing program compliance. Attending meetings and workshops as necessary.
  •  Supervising all games, scrimmages and practices.
  • Recruiting student-athletes and recommending students who should receive athletic grant and scholarships.
  • Directing, supervising, and evaluating assistant coaches, working with the Associate Director to maintain accurate records.
  • Surveying opponents when applicable.
  • Supplying the Sports Information Director with team and individual student athlete information.
  • Ensuring travel arrangements and driving if necessary.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus two to three years of effective experience in athletic coaching required. Must possess certification in CPR and first aid, and successfully complete NCAA, Division II Rules Test. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be available to work evenings and weekends as needed. Candidates must be willing to support the Catholic Dominican mission of the college.

Assistant Director, Athletics (Req. #1417)

Caldwell University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Director, Athletics. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President and Director, Athletics, the Assistant Director is responsible for overseeing internal operations including, organizing and supervising home athletic events, managing equipment, overseeing student workers, and coordinating facilities for on and off campus events, but not limited to;

  •  Sprint Football Administrator and Representative of University to CSFL. Oversee all program administrative and game day operations.
  • Developing a schedule for athletic and recreational facilities. Scheduling contests for athletic program as directed.
  • Working with outside contractors to maintain athletic facilities.
  • Managing athletic equipment to include; inventory, laundering services, distribution, condition quality, supply levels, and scheduling team pick-up and drop-off of uniforms. Working with outside vendors for equipment repair and reconditioning. Monitoring equipment budget and communicating with Executive Director regarding needs and projections.
  •  Coordinating and supervising home athletic events and contests. Ensure staffing, facilities preparation, and communication with officials and other event personnel.
  •  Supervising and scheduling student employees covering the fitness center, equipment room, recreational sports, and home athletic contests.
  • Working with outside organizations to secure facilities for athletic purposes when needed.
  • Assisting the Director, Athletic Media Relations with special projects and programs.
  • Attending various athletic conference meetings and conventions, serving on committees as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree plus one to years of effective experience working in the athletic field is required. Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and google suite.
