About I am a licensed professional counselor and approved clinical supervisor who has been in the field of mental health counseling for over 25 years. I have a particular interest in working with young adults who are striving to live their best possible lives and have a successful college experience. I’m a trained EMDR therapist, assisting clients who may have experienced various kinds of traumatic episodes in their earlier years that are currently interfering with their ability to thrive in their relationships and everyday lives. I also draw on numerous other psychotherapeutic modalities to help clients manage the numerous stressors and everyday challenges that might be negatively impacting them. My personal interests include knitting, jewelry designing, bird-watching, hiking, reading, attending concerts, and enjoying the beauty of nature. I have two beautiful black cats, Cordelia and Desdemona. |

I have been a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for over 30 years and have worked in many various capacities. After receiving my Master’s from Columbia University and subsequently becoming a Board Certified Psychiatric/ Mental Health Advanced Practice Nurse (NP), I worked in research at the NY Psychiatric Institute and then for Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center establishing the first Childhood Depression/ Suicide Clinic. After my move to NJ, I worked in Community Mental Health Centers, private practice and for Bergen County Department of Human Services. My work with Bergen County has been the greatest professional achievement in my life. Shortly after beginning this work, I saw clients in the Juvenile Justice System, the Youth Shelter and several other programs including our AFT and Substance Abuse Program, but the most significant work has been with the Venture Program. This program is a middle and high school program for emotionally disabled and psychiatrically involved youth. I had a big part in the development and evolution of the program over the past 24 years. I also provided evaluation, medication management, group and individual therapy to students, as well as, intake and discharge plans, supervision of clinical staff and interns, consultation and education to academic staff and risk assessments. Serving the youth of Bergen County and surrounding communities has been a great honor I maintain my Board Certification and ANCC Accreditation along with NJ licenses as an RN and an Advanced Practice Nurse with Prescriptive Authority. It is my pleasure to embark on this new role at Caldwell University and I hope I can provide a very meaningful contribution. |
