Caldwell University is a private, accredited Catholic university in Caldwell, NJ offering bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees and a vibrant campus life complete with rewarding activities, clubs, and service opportunities.
The following guidelines are to be followed for anyone wishing to nominate a graduate of Caldwell University for the June Dwyer CastanoVeritas Award:
The nominee must:
hold an undergraduate or graduate degree from Caldwell University
at least ten years of accomplishments in a given field
Demonstrate community service
reflects the University’s Mission in their lives
be a memorable figure whose persona will be of considerable interest
may not be a University Board member or employee
may not be a spouse of a Caldwell University employee
Those wishing to nominate alumni should be a friend or associate who is familiar with the nominee’s career and service given to the community. A letter of nomination should be submitted to the Veritas Committee and should reach the Committee at least six months before the next awards ceremony.
SELECTION PROCESS
The Veritas Committee receives nominations of individuals identified as potential awardees from faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of the university.
A subgroup of the Committee, the Selection Committee, is then charged with reviewing the potential awardees and determining a short-list for further review by the whole Committee.
The full Veritas Committee then chooses the list of recommended honorees who are presented to the President for review.
The selected honorees must be able to attend the event. If they are unable to attend, their nomination is held for review again the following year.
Nominations of those not selected are held for three years for continued consideration. Everyone nominated receives a letter from the committee regarding their status.
