met at Caldwell University! The couple married on 11/3/18 and made it back to campus on their wedding day to commemorate where it all began.

Alyssa Speno ‘08 and Efrain Velazquez ‘07 were both scholarship athletes – softball for Alyssa and baseball for Efrain. The couple married in 2013 with a bridal party featuring many Caldwell alumni. Alyssa and Efrain have two daughters, Gianna (6) and Sophia (4). Alyssa and Efrain remain connected to their Caldwell alumni friends, joining in their bridal parties, and, for Efrain, getting together once a year for the last 12 years with the baseball guys to reminisce about their Caldwell days.

Melissa Brady Petrillo ‘14/‘18 and Chris Petrillo ‘14/‘19 met at a Campus Ministry LBI retreat – making going down the shore a favorite memory for the couple. On July 12, 2019, the happy couple tied the knot with several Caldwell alumni as part of their wedding party, including the bride’s brother, Dennis Brady ‘18, the groom’s brother, Michael Petrillo ‘18, and two bridesmaids.

Nicole Laureigh ‘10 and, Jan Marco Jiras ‘08 & ‘10 met on campus and have remained part of the Caldwell family ever since. Both members of the Caldwell soccer teams, Nicole and Jan Marco met through mutual friends and started dating. Caldwell University’s former chaplain, Father Al Berner married the couple 11 years ago! Nicole and Jan Marco have two active boys, Mateo and Nicolas, and enjoy raising their families alongside their close friends.
