The Eileen Jones Multicultural Center honors Eileen Jones, the first Black woman to graduate from Caldwell University in 1957 and a trailblazer in many ways. She was the first Black woman to serve as chief of administrative review for compensation and pension at the Veterans Administration in Washington, D.C. Upon returning to New Jersey, she received the Caldwell Veritas Award in 1986 for her professional excellence. Before her passing in 2019, Eileen Jones generously donated property to Caldwell University, with the proceeds helping to establish the Multicultural Center that now bears her name.
