Certificate in Business Essentials
Caldwell University is proud to launch a new Certificate in Business Essentials, an 18-credit program offered through the School of Business and Computer Science. The certificate can be completed over the course of an academic year through evening and online classes.
Students pursuing a certificate in Business Essentials help keep a business on track while advancing their own careers. Whether working for a corporation or as an entrepreneur, this certificate program is ideal for those who look at the big picture. This program prepares you to plan, organize, direct, and control business activities as well as how to navigate and lead in a large organization. You’ll gain skills such as how to analyze a business’s strengths and weaknesses, determine how best to enhance profitability, and steer companies through challenging business conditions.

The certificate program is designed to also be offered in the School of Business and Computer Science as a minor in Business Essentials for matriculated students at Caldwell.
Additionally, Caldwell offers a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration.
The certificate in Business Essentials consists of six 3-credit courses:
- BU 101 Survey of Economics
- BU 105 Contemporary Business
- BU 211 Accounting I
- BU 221 Marketing
- BU 260 Leading and Managing Holistically
- BU 350 Legal Environment of Business I
The 18-credit Business Essentials certificate program is open to applicants with a high school diploma at a cost of $725 per credit. Financial aid and discounts may be available.
