The degree for a physical therapist is Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), which usually takes three years. Most physical therapy programs require students to have a 4-year undergraduate degree.

Individual programs may require additional courses in science, math, humanities, and social sciences.
New York Medical College (4+3 Program)
*the student must complete the bachelor’s degree before beginning the professional program
Apply: Early in their junior year at Caldwell.
Benefit: The student does not have to wait for their senior year to know if they have been accepted into the program.
Application requirements: Grades of C+ or better in prerequisite courses, GPA > 3.2, GRE, 100 hours of experience.
Dominican University of New York (4+3 Program)
*the student must complete the bachelor’s degree before beginning the professional program
Apply: Early in their senior year at Caldwell.
Benefit: Guaranteed admission for at least two Caldwell students who meet criteria.
Application requirements: Grades of C or better in prerequisite courses, GPA > 3.0, interview, 60 (preferably 100) hours of experience.
Seton Hall University (4+3 Program)
*the student must complete the bachelor’s degree before beginning the professional program
Apply: Early in their senior year at Caldwell.
Benefit: Acceptance of up to 10 Caldwell graduates who meet admission requirements.
Application requirements: Grades of C or better in prerequisite courses, GPA > 3.2, and interview.
