The degree for an optometrist is Doctor of Optometry (OD), which usually takes four years. Most optometry programs require students to have a 4-year undergraduate degree.

Individual programs may require additional courses in science, math, humanities, and social sciences.
Salus at Drexel University, Pennsylvania College of Optometry (3+4 Program)

Apply: During their junior year at Caldwell.
Benefit: If the student is accepted, they enroll in the optometry program after their junior year. The first year of the optometry program can be transferred back to Caldwell and count as the fourth year of the bachelor’s degree.
Application requirements: Grades of C or better in prerequisite courses, Optometry Admissions Test.
