BLOOMFIELD HOLDS OFF COUGARS IN MEN'S HOOPS

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - The Caldwell College men's basketball team reduced a 21-point deficit to two but was unable to overcome Bloomfield College in a 94-81 loss Tuesday night at the Bloomfield Gymnasium. The result gives the Cougars an overall record of 0-5, including a 0-2 mark in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. The Deacons are now 4-2 overall, 1-0 in league play. Senior forward Matt Cohen (Forked River, NJ/Manasquan) tallied career highs of 21 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.

ORANGEBURG, N.Y. - The Caldwell College men's basketball team lost to Dominican College, 61-51 in the first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game of the season for both teams Wednesday night in the Hennessy Center. The Cougars fall to 0-4 on the season, while the Chargers are now 2-2. Junior guard Antonio Brimley (Paterson, NJ/Paterson Eastside) had 10 points, nine rebounds and two steals for Caldwell.

Newman Center Monday night. The defeat drops the Cougars to 0-3 on the season, while the Wolves improve to 3-1. Junior guard Antonio Brimley (Paterson, NJ/Paterson Eastside) recorded 10 points and six rebounds for Caldwell.

Last season the Cougars tied for fourth place with a conference record of 7-3-1 and advanced to the semifinals of the CACC Tournament. Philadelphia and Georgian Court, last year’s CACC Tournament finalists, tied for first in this year’s poll, which was voted on by the conference’s 13 head coaches.
