Caldwell, NJ – Three Caldwell University faculty members, Dr. Mohamed Gebril, Erin McIntyre and Aneesha Jean, DNP, presented at the NJ AI Hub Statewide Higher Education AI Showcase on June 17, 2026. This event brings together leaders in higher education, government and nonprofit organizations to share ideas and look to the future of AI in New Jersey.
Aneesha Jean, DNP, Professor for the Department of Nursing and Public Health, presented “AI in Campus Governance – A Full Policy Template.” Jean was joined by Joseph Baker, Ph. D. of The College of New Jersey, Ryan Hinrichs, Ph. D. of Drew University and Libby Newman of Rider University. Their presentation looked at four policy areas – academic integrity and syllabus design, accessibility and inclusion, research and scholarship, and data privacy and offered recommendations for best practices.
Erin McIntyre, Communications and Media Studies Department Chair, presented on the new course she is piloting at Caldwell University called AI & Storytelling. McIntyre was joined by Dr. Jeremy Blatter of Drew University, and they discussed how the rise of generative AI, deepfakes and misinformation has transformed the communications landscape and why it’s essential to prepare students to use these technologies thoughtfully and ethically. The course focuses on teaching students how to integrate AI into professional media workflows while maintaining journalistic standards. The presentation highlighted the course’s learning outcomes and teaching model.
Dr. Mohamed Gebril, Assistant Professor of Business Administration, took part in a collaborative curriculum initiative of AI Technical Foundations in Higher Education. This initiative included a 4- week modular program developed in partnership with faculty from Drew University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Rider University and The College of New Jersey. The curriculum is designed for integration into existing courses during the fall semester and addresses AI competency across beginner, intermediate and advanced levels, as well as AI applications for career readiness.
Caldwell University’s participation in this event represents the university’s commitment to understanding and integrating emerging technologies into the curriculum to ensure our students are fully equipped for the professional world.
