Caldwell University President Matthew Whelan is excited to welcome students back for the start of the spring semester.
In this video message, Dr. Whelan notes how well the University community did in the fall semester because of everyone’s dedication to Caldwell’s core values of respect, integrity, community, and excellence.
“When other universities had to pause, Caldwell University kept on going,” said President Whelan. He commended the students for their dedication. “Your care for your other students, your faculty, your staff was amazing.”
He reminds students to keep up the same behavior this spring semester–to wash their hands, wear their masks, and remain socially distant. “And once again, we’ll get through this semester, with your help. I’ve talked to the faculty; I’ve talked to the staff. Everybody is eager to have you back.”
Dr. Whelan says they are looking forward to greeting the students whether they are taking in- person classes or learning remotely. For those students who are taking classes virtually, he encouraged them to show their faces on the video–“so we can get to know you and you can get to know us.” And he encourages the students to take part in the many activities and educational opportunities offered by the University.
