Caldwell, NJ – Caldwell University is pleased to welcome Michelle Curtain Stewart, Ed.D. as Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs. She comes to Caldwell University with 30+ years of experience in faculty and higher education leadership roles.

“I ultimately ended up in leadership because I realized that it was my calling and my sense of purpose. I like solving problems. I like being strategic and innovative and I enjoy working with people… Academic Affairs [covers] a lot of different disciplines… biologists are different from mathematicians, mathematicians think differently from sociologists, and I’m actually stimulated by that.”

For her time at Caldwell University, Dr. Stewart is focused on supporting faculty to be innovative and future-focused to give Caldwell students the best opportunities for success. “I don’t think this can be repeated enough… I’m here for student success,” she remarked.

Dr. Stewart received her BA in Political Science from Alcorn State University in Mississippi and her MA in Sociology and Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Indiana University, Bloomington.
