Caldwell, NJ – It was a sea of legacy green and white as New York Jets’ most devoted fans arrived on Caldwell University’s campus to celebrate the launch of the team’s Origins docuseries. Presented by Caldwell University and 1JD Films, Origins takes viewers far off the playing field to the earliest days of some of the team’s top players.

After mingling over cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, eager fans took their seats for an up-close and personal sneak peek at this season’s featured players, C Joe Tippmann, CB Michael Carter II, LT Olu Fashanu, and DE Will McDonald IV, but not before kicking things off with a roaring, “J-E-T-S! Jets! Jets! Jets!”

“Who’s ready for some football?” asked event host Jeané Coakley before introducing Caldwell University president Jeffrey Senese, Ph.D., who offered a warm welcome to the New York Jets and enthusiastic fans.

“As one of the educational partners of the Jets, we are thrilled to have you on campus,” he began. “Look around on campus, this is a gorgeous place.

“We are an institution of the community.”

Origins is really a product of a huge investment by the Jets and documentary programming,” said series executive producer Seth Bradley during his conversation with Coakley. “Last year we wanted to create a series that really takes people under the helmet.”

The anticipation only increased from there, as, one by one, this season’s subjects engaged in their conversations with Coakley, each reflecting on their careers and what it was like to have such a personal light shined on their lives off the field.

From dealing with being tackled the first time, to being one of over one thousand Tippmanns in his hometown, to being publicity-shy in a publicity-heavy sport, Tippmann, Carter and McDonald delivered the human – and often funny – side of the professional athlete, much to the appreciation of the team’s most dedicated fans.

Overall, it was a fantastic evening on campus, filled with community and a shared love of football and our beloved New York Jets.

“We are thrilled to be a partner, we look forward to the season,” Dr. Senese began. “And go Jets!”

Origins begins its second season on Thursday, July 24, 2025. The series is available on the New York Jets’ YouTube channel.
