Caldwell University Community Member Appointed Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Newark
Caldwell, NJ – Caldwell University doctoral student, Christine James, has been appointed Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Newark. She succeeds Sister Donna L. Ciango, O.P. ‘71, Vice Chair of Caldwell University’s Board of Trustees, and will work closely with Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin and other key leaders to continue to support the administrative needs of the Archdiocese.
Christine James has many connections to Caldwell University and the Dominican Sisters of Caldwell. She graduated from Lacodaire Academy in Montclair, which was founded by the Sisters of St. Dominic of Caldwell in 1920, and has served as Chairperson of the school’s Board of Trustees. She is also currently pursuing a doctoral degree in educational leadership and administration at Caldwell University.
James became a Lay Dominican Associate in 2021 through the Sisters of St. Dominic of Caldwell, and has been involved in their Commission on Global Issues.
Caldwell University and the Sisters of St. Dominic are proud to maintain this connection with the Archdiocese of Newark.
