Caldwell, NJ – Caldwell University is pleased to announce it has been awarded a $3 million federal grant through the U.S. Department of Education’s Title III Strengthening Institutions Program for the university’s Project LAUNCH: Leveraging Alumni Networks and Writing Competencies for Career Readiness and Student Success.

“Receiving this Title III funding marks an exciting step forward for our campus community. Connecting academic excellence to real-world career readiness is central to our mission, and these resources will amplify our efforts to prepare students for fulfilling, long-term careers. We are excited to see the transformative impact it will have on our students’ academic and professional journeys,” said Caldwell University President, Dr. Jeffrey D. Senese.

The five-year award will support students’ writing skills and career readiness, modernize curriculum and student support, and strengthen first-year retention. The university will implement five integrated activities: student support infrastructure; faculty development; Dreamscape Learn-supported course redesign; Cougar Edge – a career development program; and Institutional Advancement and Finance Departments workflow modernization.

“Dreamscape Learn Studio opens up new horizons in teaching for faculty and in learning for students. Immersive experiences allow faculty to engage students in a different way from how a textbook, workbook, or lecture would engage the students. We all learn best by doing, and this technology allows students to engage in learning by doing in low-risk environments. We are excited that faculty and students now have access to this set of tools that can be explored in all sorts of contexts, disciplines, and timelines,” said Ellina Chernobilsky, Vice President for Institutional Assessment, Strategic Planning, and Scholarship.

The Title III, Part A: Strengthening Institutions Program helps eligible institutions of higher education expand their capacity to serve students by providing funds to improve and strengthen the academic quality, institutional management, and fiscal stability.
