Dr. Sitnick received her Ph.D. in Human Development from the University of California Davis. Her research focuses health-risk behaviors (e.g., obesity risk, substance use, sexual-risk behaviors) in children and adolescents as well as mediating and moderating factors in these relationships. Additionally, she is interested prevention and intervention effectiveness and longitudinal data analyses. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, and cooking.

Dr. Lauren B. Clark is currently an Assistant Professor in the Graduate Counseling program, at Caldwell University. Dr. Clark joined Caldwell in the spring of 2023 and teaches graduate courses including research and statistics, career counseling, multicultural counseling, and practicum. B.A. Jersey City State College M.A. Caldwell University Ms. Farina’s research experience includes electrophysiological research on the biomolecular basis of learning and memory at Rutgers University. Her professional development course experience includes extensive PhD level courses in research design, data analysis, cognition, learning, and neurophysiology. Presently, her professional interest has centered on teaching methods that facilitate learning in the undergraduate classroom. Ms. Farina began teaching at Caldwell University in 2001, and teaches courses primarily in BioPsychology, Learning, Statistics, Experimental Psychology, and General Psychology. She is also an On-Line course developer and instructor. She has a passion for student service and takes pride in her belief that teaching is a privilege. In her “off” time, she is an adventurer at heart and spends most of her free time hiking and traveling. |
Emma Kendrick

Dr. Emma L. Kendrick is currently an Associate Professor in the Graduate Counseling program, at Caldwell University. Dr. Kendrick joined Caldwell in the fall of 2012 and teaches graduate courses specifically focused on clinical mental health counseling. In addition to teaching, she also serves as the Program Coordinator for the Graduate Counseling program, in the School of Psychology and Counseling. In her time at Caldwell, Dr. Kendrick has been honored with the “Dream Catcher” and “Graduate Faculty Mentorship” awards, both recognizing her ongoing commitment to counselor education. Dr. Kendrick is fully certified as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Jersey, and also holds the national certification of Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS). Her research interests surround counselor competency, counselor screening/selection (in graduate admissions process), and counselor education pedagogy. Dr. Kendrick uses her research to provide workshops throughout the local community, in addition to presenting regularly at national and international conferences. |

Born in Somalia and raised in Ethiopia as the child of missionaries, Stephen has also lived and worked for periods of time in Japan, South Korea and the Virgin Islands. He earned his PhD from Drew University and has been here at CU since 1992. His area of expertise is prenatal psychology and has written and edited several books on the subject. Bio B.A. Rutgers College Dr Salerno received her doctorate in Higher Education and Student Development from The Graduate School of Education at Rutgers University. She has held various administrative and teaching positions throughout her career in student affairs, program management, crisis counseling, and evaluation. A long-time adjunct at Caldwell and other local institutions, she joined the psychology faculty full-time in 2023. She is especially committed to helping students transition into graduate school and teaches the psychology capstone course each year. Her research interests center on women at different stages in the lifespan and college-student mental health. Dr. Salerno loves reading, cooking, and gardening when not at work and is happiest hanging out with her grown kids. |

Education B.S., Rider University Dr. Stacey Solomon has been teaching at Caldwell University for over 20 years. She holds a School Counselor Certification for the State of New Jersey and is a licensed professional counselor. Dr. Solomon teaches and utilizes a strengths-based, collaborative and compassionate approach to counseling. She has experience working with children, adolescents and adults and enjoys working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Dr. Solomon received her Ph.D. in Counselor Education from the University of Virginia. |

Dr. Dan Summer is an assistant professor of Art Therapy in the department of Psychology and Counseling. Dan completed his master’s degree in creative arts therapy at Hofstra University in 1997. Most recently he earned a Ph.D. in Expressive Therapies from Lesley University and is a licensed, board-certified art therapist in New York. His previous clinical experiences include working on an inpatient psychiatric unit with adults living with chronic mental illness and most recently in an outpatient setting providing group and individual therapy to children and adolescents with severe emotional disturbances. Dan graduated from Institute for Arts in Psychotherapies with a certificate in the drama therapy method developmental transformations and is taking classes in New Jersey to ultimately become licensed as a professional counselor in New Jersey. Grief and loss is Dr. Parikh’s main area of interest, with a focus on understanding and increasing peer support among college students. Other areas of interest include empathy, multiculturalism, mentorship, first-generation college students, and resiliency. She is an active member of the Association for Death Education and Counseling, an international, interdisciplinary professional organization for those who work with the dying or the bereaved, and has also been involved with National Students of AMF, a network of peer support groups for grieving college students. She enjoys fiction, amigurumi (crochet toys), and long leisurely walks. |
