Theology/Philosophy Department to Host Screening of Documentary “The Rule” on St. Benedict’s Preparatory High School
Caldwell, N.J., Oct. 12, 2016 – The documentary “The Rule,” which shows how the 1500 year old precepts of St. Benedict are applied to St. Benedict’s Preparatory High School in Newark, will be shown at Caldwell University, 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday Oct. 26.
The event is being presented by the Caldwell Department of Theology/Philosophy as part of its Sister Maura Campbell, O.P. lecture series. It is free and open to the public and will be held in the Alumni Theater.
The introduction will be given by Brother Thomas Aquinas Hall, O.S.B., an alumnus of Caldwell University and St. Benedict’s Prep.
A question and answer forum will follow the film.
The documentary was created by Emmy-nominated, award-winning, husband and wife filmmakers and longtime Newark residents, Marylou and Jerome Bongiorno and is a production of Bongiorno Productions Inc., in association with KTWU.
St. Benedict’s Prep is committed to preparing boys in and around Newark to fulfill their potential as emotionally mature, morally responsible and well-educated young men.
Founded in 1868, it is run by Benedictine monks who have achieved a near 100-percent college acceptance rate.
