As the United States welcomes Pope Francis Caldwell University shares a video message for the Holy Father via Charity Has No Boundaries, a website from Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York. The video features Caldwell University President Nancy Blattner along with students Jefferson Daley, Sean Puzzo, and Samantha Rivera. It was filmed and edited by student Joseph DiCarlo.

Catholic Charities has provided the platform for everyone, regardless of place of origin or religion, to welcome Pope Francis and share a message of charity.

Students and campus community to engage in activities celebrating Pope Francis’ visit

Caldwell University’s annual day of service, known as Caldwell Day, takes place on September 25 while Pope Francis is in the U.S. Classes will be cancelled that day and nonessential offices will be closed. Faculty, staff, students, and administration are invited to volunteer at non-profit organizations. Afterwards there will be a luncheon and Mass. “We can’t think of a better way to live out our Catholic Dominican pillar of service and at the same time follow the Holy Father’s call to care for the poor and those in need in our midst,” said Sister Kathleen Tuite, O.P, vice president for student life.

On Thursday September 24 a group of Caldwell University students will take part in the multi-faith rally supporting Pope Francis’ call for climate action “We Will Light the Way” at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza in New York City.
