Caldwell, N.J., Nov. 14, 2013 – Jennings Library will host the art exhibit “The World Through the Future Teacher’s Eyes” Nov. 18 to Dec. 9.  The exhibit is part of the college’s art history course, Art Fundamentals for the Elementary Teacher, aimed at giving non-art education majors the fundamentals of art  and history, and demonstrating how that information may be applied in the classroom toward curriculum development for art education on the elementary school level. In selecting works for this exhibit, students tried to create a warm and positive atmosphere that they could later recreate in their own classrooms.

The course is taught by Larisa Tsvetkova Ph.D.,a New Jersey certified teacher with more than 20 years of experience developing programs and teaching students. Her research interest is in pedagogical specifics in education for the artistic and creative development of students.

Larisa is the recipient of the 1998 Russian National Contest of program development for additional education of children. Among her students are winners of more than 30 international, national and regional contests.

 Participants of the exhibition are:
