DeMauro Earns CSC Academic All-District Women’s Basketball Honors

Graduate Special Education major, Standout Forward Named to Squad

GREENWOOD, Ind. — Graduate forward Sophia DeMauro (New York) has been named to the 2023-24 Collegiate Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for women’s basketball, the organization announced. 

The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. DeMauro, along with the other Academic All-District honorees, is now considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced later this month.

DeMauro, a graduate student majoring in special education, started 24 games for the Cougars in 2023-24, averaging 8.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. She had a career-best 30 points at Wilmington on January 26, and scored in double figures eight other times, including a 15-point, 12-rebound double-double vs. Bloomfield on Jan. 23.

New to Caldwell this year as a graduate transfer after earning her degree from Rider University, DeMauro was a three-time MAAC All-Academic team with the Broncs.
