GENERAL COMMENCEMENT INFORMATION
COMMENCEMENT LITURGY
Saturday, May 18, 2024, 4:00 p.m.
In the spirit of our Catholic and Dominican Tradition at Caldwell University, we will celebrate Liturgy on the Saturday of Commencement weekend. More information coming soon.
The celebration of the Liturgy begins at 4:00 p.m., and is open to all graduating students, their families and friends, faculty and staff of Caldwell University. This Mass is a Vigil for the Feast of Pentecost and fulfills your Sunday Mass obligation. Tickets are not required for the service and guests of all faith traditions are welcome. At the end of the Mass, graduates will be invited forward to receive a special blessing.
THE 82nd ANNUAL COMMENCEMENT
The 82nd Annual Commencement at Caldwell University will occur during the weekend of May 18 -19, 2024, in the George R. Newman Center. We will celebrate our graduating students with three ceremonies throughout the weekend.
On Saturday, degrees will be conferred for the master’s and doctoral candidates; on Sunday, bachelor degrees will be conferred. Each ceremony will have unique guest tickets. Please communicate with your graduate regarding guest tickets.
GRADUATE COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY
Saturday, May 18, 2024, 6:30 p.m.
George R. Newman Center
This ceremony recognizes the following degrees:
Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Education, Master of Arts, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Accounting, Master of Science in Nursing.
The Graduate Commencement Ceremony and Conferring of Degrees will begin at 6:30 p.m. Doors open 5:30 p.m. Doors close at 6:20 p.m. Guests arriving late, or without tickets, may view the ceremony from alternate viewing sites.
Ticket-bearing guests are invited to be present at the Graduate Commencement Ceremony in the Newman Center. Each graduate participating in the graduate ceremony may request up to six tickets for guests (the graduate does not need a ticket). Participating graduates must order their tickets through the link sent to their Caldwell email address. Tickets cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. Tickets must be presented for admission on Commencement day.
Guest seating in the Newman Center is designated as the floor seats that are not reserved for the graduates, faculty, and/or other identified guests. All guests, including infants and children, must have a ticket to enter to be compliant with fire codes. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.; guests should be seated by 6:20 p.m. ahead of the Academic Procession, and plan to remain for the entire ceremony. Caldwell University recognizes the accomplishments of all of our graduates and will announce the name of each ceremony participant. Therefore, it is expected that guests will remain for the entire ceremony as a courtesy to our graduates and their guests.
For guests of graduates without tickets, there will be simulcast viewing of the GraduateCommencement Ceremony on May 18, 2024 in the Alumni Theatre. Tickets are not needed for entry to this space which operate on a first-come first-served basis, with limited seating.
Please be aware the Commencement Liturgy is held in the late afternoon on May 18, 2024; Campus officials will guide you to the appropriate areas for parking and entrances to the events.
UNDERGRADUATE COMMENCEMENT CEREMONIES

Conferral of Degrees for Business, Nursing, and Public Health Education degrees

The Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony and Conferring of Degrees for those listed above will begin at 10:00 a.m. Doors open 8:30 a.m. Doors close at 9:50 a.m. Guests arriving late, or without tickets, may view the ceremony from alternate viewing sites.
Ticket-bearing guests are invited to be present at the 10 a.m. the Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony in the Newman Center. Each graduate participating in the ceremony may request up to six tickets for guests (the graduate does not need a ticket). Participating graduates must order their tickets through the link sent to their Caldwell email address. Tickets cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. Tickets must be presented for admission on Commencement day.
