Nursing Department Using 3D Printer with Clients

Ellen Johnston and Heather Cook have been working with Professor Aneesha Jean’s Community and Public Health Nursing class on a 3D printing project. The students decided to have medication organizers printed for their clients. The medication organizers will be presented to both men and women at a residential HIV/AIDs facility to assist clients with antiviral medication adherence.

Ellen and Heather printed out samples of the container, which the students then took to the rest of the class to decide on a design. After printing several samples, the students finally decided on a design and a color. The librarians were busy printing up enough pill boxes for the group. The students will present the organizers to the residents before the end of the semester.
