CALDWELL, N.J. – The Caldwell University women’s basketball team will play Goldey-Beacom College in the semifinals of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament on Friday, Mar. 8 at 12:00 p.m. at the University of the Sciences’ Morgan Arena in Philadelphia, Pa. USciences is hosting both the men’s and women’s CACC tournaments, with the finals to be played on Saturday, Mar. 9.

The Cougars (18-11 overall) advanced to the semifinals with a 72-50 triumph over Philadelphia University in the quarterfinals on Mar. 2 in the George R. Newman Center. Junior guard Marielle Duryea (Middle Village, NY/Archbishop Molloy) scored a team-best 13 points, while junior forward Jeanette Anderson (Lynn, MA/Lynn English) tallied 12 points and 13 rebounds for her 13th double-double of the season. The victory extended Caldwell’s winning streak to 14 games, the longest in the program’s history. The Cougars, who won the CACC North Division with a conference record of 15-4, feature two all-CACC first team selections in Anderson and senior guard Torey Jones(Providence, RI/LaSalle Acad.).

Goldey-Beacom, the No. 2 seed from the South Division, defeated Post University, 63-42 in the quarterfinals to improve to 20-9 on the season. The Lightning won the regular-season meeting with Caldwell, 55-53 on Dec. 8 in Wilmington, Del., on a basket by Devonne Richardson with six seconds left.

Admission is $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for children, students and seniors per session. Transportation to Philadelphia is available for Caldwell University students, faculty and staff. If the Cougars advance to Saturday’s championship game at 4:00 p.m., a fan bus will be available for students, faculty and staff.
