Caldwell, N.J. — Caldwell University recently learned that The U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges 2014 rankings lists Caldwell as a Tier 1 college for Regional Universities in the North. The annual list, which provides data on nearly 1,800 schools, is considered by many to be a premiere survey for rating the nation’s colleges and universities.

The fall semester has also brought good enrollment news to campus. Caldwell greeted its largest freshman class ever in August with 331 freshmen, increased traditional enrollments in excess of 1,200 students for the first time in school history, and exceeded capacity in residence halls, but was still able to comfortably accommodate almost 550 resident students.

“We are very pleased with the start of our academic year,” said Joseph Posillico, vice president for enrollment management and communications.   “We are being recognized for what we do best—providing our students with a wonderful and enriched college experience with numerous resources in academics, athletics, support services, residence life, campus ministry, volunteerism and activities.”

Caldwell University has recently been highly ranked on a number of other prestigious lists. For the second year in a row, the college has been honored for distinctive educational excellence by CollegesofDistinction.com.   Caldwell was ranked among the 10 safest colleges and universities in New Jersey by the website stateuniversity.com. The campus was highest overall for safety among the private colleges in the Garden State.     The college was also highly ranked among the New Jersey colleges providing the best return on investment by AffordableCollegesOnline.org and was selected as one of the 2013-2014 top colleges with the best career services by Bestcolleges.com.
