Music Faculty Rebecca Vega Performs with Uptown Flutes at Kennedy Center

Music faculty Rebecca Vega and her group Uptown Flutes performed with composer Valerie Coleman at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. on August 12. Coleman is the founder, flutist and resident composer of the Grammy nominated Imani Winds.

On August 13, Uptown Flutes premiered a new work with internationally known flutist Alexa Still at the keynote concert at the National Flute Convention.  Vega, a Verona resident, says it was a thrill to work with these outstanding musicians.  “Both performances were well received and we look forward to working with these amazing flutists in the near future.”

UpTown Flutes is a dynamic ensemble presenting original works and arrangements composed for the entire family of flutes: piccolo, C flute, alto and bass flutes.
