Caldwell is raising funds to provide adequate resources for the growth of the athletics program. Support is needed for a field house, equipment, training, staff, and resources to support the program as it hits the gridiron.
Adding sprint football to Caldwell’s broad variety of varsity athletic programs will be a boon for school spirit by harnessing the culture of football to build community. Sprint Football is a full-contact intercollegiate varsity sport and has the same rules as regular college football with one exception: all players must weigh 177 pounds or less. The new program not only increases our male enrollment, but builds school spirit by adding CHEERLEADING, MARCHING BAND and COLOR GUARD while providing an exciting experience for fans.
A more favorable male-to-female student ratio is a critical element of the university’s overall achievement of its mission to educate a diverse and talented student body.
An innovative partnership with the local community and shared facilities for both practice and competitive play, makes sprint football an ideal platform for community outreach. The program has support from local businesses and elected officials, who anticipate benefits to the community through the large numbers of people the games will bring to the area.
