The Caldwell University Art Therapy Programs Gallery is presenting the “2017 Fall Caldwell University Faculty Exhibition” on view now through Oct. 29. The exhibit is open to the public and is located on the third floor of Werner Hall at Caldwell University, 120 Bloomfield Avenue in Caldwell, NJ.
The display features works by Caldwell University faculty member Annette Vaccaro and Artist/Photographer, Berendina Buist. Vaccaro is an associate professor of counseling with specialization in art therapy at Caldwell University and a trained psychoanalyst. Vaccaro’s artwork in the exhibit is reflective of her work as a psychoanalyst. “The viewer may find visual representation of the power of introspection and commitment to self-reflection through the therapy process in this work, “ said Vaccaro, who is also a professor at the Academy of Clinical and Applied Psychoanalysis and the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis.
Buist, a resident of Princeton, N.J., is a widely shown artist with international and national exposure. She is a member of the Movis Art Collective. Her work ‘Still in Motion’ highlights the effects of exercise on individuals and showcases the dualities of stillness and movement, and the physical and psychological selves. The collection consists of a series of larger than life before and after portraits.
