Confirmed on-campus cases of COVID-19 within the Caldwell University community include students and employees that have been on campus during their infectious period. These are cases that have been reported to the university and confirmed by a laboratory test. Confidentiality laws prohibit the university from disclosing any identifying information about affected individuals. Any individual who has tested positive will be required to isolate, and anyone identified through contact tracing to be at risk for exposure as defined by CDC guidelines will be notified and asked to self-quarantine. The buildings accessed by these individuals will be subject to enhanced cleaning using disinfectants recommended by the CDC for killing viruses like coronavirus.

If you believe you have been exposed to COVID-19 or start experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness, contact a health care provider immediately. Employees should contact their supervisor and Human Resources at 973-618-3555. Students should contact the Office of Health Services at 973-618-3319.
Contact tracing for confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19 will be coordinated through local health agencies with campus health officials. Resident students exhibiting symptoms may be asked to go into isolation housing if they cannot return home. The total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 since March 1, 2020 as of Wednesday, September 16, 2020 for New Jersey, Essex County, and Caldwell borough are reported online by Essex County government.
