Christmas time is in full swing at Caldwell University! Students and staff gathered on campus for fun-filled events this month in celebration of the holidays. A few activities included the Advent Mass, Christmas Spectacular! Concert, and Christmas caroling at Marian Manor.

On Dec. 1, the Campus Ministry welcomed all students in the Student Life suite to decorate cookies for Christmas! On Dec. 7, Caldwell hosted the Fair Trade Christmas Shopping Village in the Hall of Flags, where wonderful handmade items were sold. On Dec. 8, our faculty and students engaged in activities, such as the Blessing and Lighting of the creche and the tree outside Werner Hall, followed by a campus-wide dinner in the evening.

Some of the most special events on campus involved the community and serving others. Caldwell received many generous gifts for the Giving Tree Project from students and staff, which directly help families in need this Christmas. All gifts were sent to the Broadway House, Magnificat Home, and Our Lady Help of Christians in East Orange. Caldwell Cougars also donated to the Caldwell Food Pantry Collection Drive–where non-perishable food items are given to help those in need.

Thank you again to everyone who made this holiday season so special. We look forward to the New Year at Caldwell University–2022! Stay safe and enjoy the holiday season with your loved ones.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Caldwell University President Matthew Whelan and the campus community!

Caldwell University’s Giving Tree Project helps provide a Merry Christmas for families who are having difficulties making ends meet. The non-profits that benefited this year from the outpouring of generosity of the campus community are Broadway House, Magnificat Home, and Our Lady Help of Christians in East Orange.

The Christmas Spectacular! concert is an annual tradition that brings members of the community together to enjoy performances by the University’s chorale and wind ensemble. This year’s concert, on Dec. 10, featured the chorale’s singing of “Esto les Digo,” “Dominican Magnificat,” “Ose Shalom,” “ En el Portal a Belen,” “Betelehemu,” “O Magnum Mysterium,” “Bogoroditse Djevo,” “Alleluia Brasileira,” and “The Virgin Mary Had a Baby Boy.” The wind ensemble performed “Joy Revisited,” “Greensleeves,” “March of the Toys from Babes in Toyland,” “First Noel,” “Patapan,” and “Sleigh Ride.” The annual finale and sing-along was “A Jubilant Christmas.”
