Caldwell University is offering a two-week institute to prepare Chinese high school students for study at American colleges and universities. Students will complete a rigorous schedule of activities, all focused on preparing students to successfully study at a college or university in the United States.
During the institute, students will take an American-style university course focusing on topics of relevance to higher education in the U.S. In the context of the class, students will strengthen their:
- written and oral communication skills,
- sharpen their critical thinking abilities,
- and conduct academic research in response to class assignments.
During the institute, students will live in residential housing on the Caldwell campus. Each evening, resident advisors will provide programming in the residence halls, introducing students to topics that American college students can expect to encounter.
During the institute, students will be placed in classes of no more than 25 students. They will receive personalized attention from faculty, staff and administrators at Caldwell throughout the institute in the evaluation of their work and in strengthening their individual abilities and skills.
An optional one-day program for parents will be offered, providing an overview of American higher education and an opportunity to explain expectations for parents, as well as discuss topics of importance to both international students and their families.
Caldwell University is a safe and beautiful campus located within close proximity to three international airports (JFK and LaGuardia in New York City and Liberty International in Newark, New Jersey).
