Flynn and other students worked with the National Campus Leadership Council that organizes Student Government leaders to put together a forum to discuss and tackle national issues that affect college students. “The goal of the conference was to create a dialogue between and a network of student government presidents at the Catholic Institutions on the East Coast,” she said. The experience of serving as a president at a Catholic Institution in today’s changing world is a unique one so it is good to collaborate with others, she explained.

Topics covered included student debt and college affordability, navigating controversial Issues, diversity and Inclusion, Catholic Identity, and overall best practices. Speakers included Scott Fleming, associate vice president for federal relations at Georgetown University and former assistant secretary for legislation and congressional affairs at the U.S. Department of Education, and Ovide Lamontagne, general counsel for Americans United for Life.

Fourteen ingoing and outgoing student government presidents participated.
