Joanne Seelaus, Ed.D., holding the winning raffle ticket after presenting the iPad to Michelle Della Fortuna from Cranford High School.

Caldwell University sponsored its second annual technology conference, Empowering Teachers and Students through Technology,on Friday, October 25th. Approximately 70 teachers from local schools attended the conference, which  featured Patrick Higgins, director of curriculum at Sussex-Wantage Regional School District, as the keynote speaker. Higgins  discussed what schools across the world are doing to address the growing student disengagement in their own education at a time when it is most crucial for students to be “all in.” After the keynote address, participants were able to choose from nine “hands-on” workshops, all related to integrating technology into teaching and learning. Workshops were presented by technology consultants as well as graduate students from Caldwell University. Participants were eligible to win an iPad in the drawing held at the end of the conference. Michelle Della Fortuna, who teaches math at Cranford High School, was the lucky winner of the iPad.
