Field Trips/short-term Travel Experiences

Field trips and short-term travel experiences are an integral part of our programs. Field trips to Edna Mahan Prison, NJ Home for Boys, walking tours of Chinatown and Lower Manhattan, and an educational tour of Ellis Island are among our day trips.

Travel Experience Courses, which can be taken for 3 credits in sociology or anthropology, combine lectures and week-long travel experiences and are routinely available as Winter or Summer Session department offerings. Students have traveled to such destinations as France, Hawaii, Mexico, Sicily, and Korea to study culture, archeology, immigration history, and demography.
