Art Scholarship Portfolio Requirements

ART SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS/PORTFOLIO REVIEW:

All Art Scholarship applicants must submit an art portfolio. Art Scholarships are available for annual awards of up to $10,000. Presidential Scholarships are available for full tuition. Scholarships are described on the Caldwell University website:

PORTFOLIO SUBMISSION INFORMATION:

Portfolios for incoming art students should be submitted any time before February 28th and will be reviewed by March 30th.

It is recommended you submit your work on a CD/DVD or USB Drive labeled with your name and email address. Include a numbered list of works with title, dimensions, date and medium.

WHAT ARTWORK TO INCLUDE:

The portfolio should consist of approximately 10 to 15 works done within the last two years. The work may come from from life/observation or your imagination and be representational, abstract or non-objective in style. It should include three or more observational drawings done from life/observation. You may submit work in any media and may include: images of 3-dimensional work (sculpture, ceramics or installation), painting, graphic design, collage, mixed media, digital work and video.

MAIL IN:

Your CD/DVD or USB Drive should be sent to the address below. If you would like your work returned please include a SASE.

DROP OFF:

If you are planning to drop off your portfolio securely attach a label to the outside with your name, email address and phone number and a sheet inside with the same information.

Leave the portfolio with Elaine Maliszewski in the Visceglia Art Wing (bldg. 9). Ms. Maliszewski’s office number is 146 and phone number 973-618-3931. Art Department office hours are 9:00AM to 3:30 PM. Portfolios of actual artwork will not be returned by mail. You must pick up your portfolio in person shortly after March 30th (please call ahead).

We are aware that each student has had a different high school art experience and may not have had help developing a portfolio. If you have any problems or questions about the portfolio submission/return process please contact the admissions office or Elaine Maliszewski.
