Director of News and Media Relations

Colette M. Liddy is Director of News and Media Relations at Caldwell University where she promotes faculty, administration, staff and student accomplishments, programs, and events through multiple communications platforms including traditional, web, digital, video and social media. She is the editor for the Caldwell University Magazine, writes campus press releases and stories, pitches to the press, promotes and trains faculty, staff and students for media and produces videos for the University. 

She has placed a number of successful stories and interviews featuring the university in local, regional and national media outlets including The New York Times, New Jersey Monthly Magazine, CBS 2 New York, NBC 4 New York, WWOR-TV, 1010 WINS, WCBS Newsradio 880 and more.

Before joining Caldwell University, she worked in television, radio and cable. At WWOR-TV Colette produced award-winning television programs, including the public affairs programs “Garden State Matters,” “Black Experience” and “Hispanic Horizons” and the Op-Ed pieces “Viewpoint.” Colette worked with the Tri-State Catholic Committee on Radio and Television, the New York Board of Rabbis and the New Jersey Council of Churches on production for the “Point of View” programs. She coordinated community affairs projects and worked on productions for the station’s Emmy award-winning education campaign “A+ for Kids”, as well as the Hurricane Andrew Relief Drive.

At Rainbow Media, a Cablevision company, Colette was one of a team of producers who launched the nation’s first video-on-demand digital cable service, “Mag Rack”. There she produced and wrote for a variety of special interest programs, most notably a documentary on “The Legacy of Dorothy Day,” founder of the Catholic Worker movement.

She was a Shadow Traffic reporter on several radio stations including 1010 WINS and WCBS Newsradio 880. Colette has hosted cable programs, worked in news at 1010 WINS in New York, and produced talk shows for WCAU-AM in Philadelphia.

At Caldwell, she and a campus production team have won a number of Garden State Journalist Memorial Awards including one focusing on Caldwell University’s Department of Applied Behavior Analysis and its leading work in educating professionals to work with children on the autism spectrum. They also received a Telly award for their spot focusing on Caldwell’s Athletics Department’s engagement in the NCAA “I Chose Division II” program.

Colette holds a B.A. in speech communications from West Chester University, West Chester, PA. She also studied at New Mexico State University as part of a national student exchange program. She holds an M.A. in pastoral ministry from Caldwell University. She earned a certificate in “Media and the New Evangelisation” from the School of the Annunciation, Buckfast Abbey, Buckfastleigh, Devon, England, and a crisis communications certificate from the Public Relations Society of America. Colette is a fellow of Bellezza & Verità, Truth and Beauty Project–a digital media fellowship program in Rome, Italy that encourages the creation of new art to spread light, truth, and beauty. She is an adjunct faculty member at Caldwell in the Theology and Philosophy and Communications and Media Studies departments.
