Career/Ministry profile: Sister Arlene Antczak, OP is the former Prioress of the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Caldwell, NJ. She served in this capacity from 2005 to 2015 and was an ex officio member of the university’s Board of Trustees. As Prioress, she initiated a plan and collaborative process to explore the mission effectiveness, viability, sustainability and new governance models for the congregation’s sponsored ministries.
Sister Arlene’s early ministries were in elementary education at St. Joseph’s School in Union City, Lacordaire Lower School and Mount Saint Dominic Academy Grade School. In 1978, she became principal of Lacordaire Upper School where she served for 5 years. For the next 21 years, Sister served at Saint Dominic Academy in Jersey City, NJ as director of guidance, assistant principal, registrar and student crisis counselor.
Education: Sister Arlene earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education/Social Studies from Caldwell College and a Master of Science degree in Counselor Education from the University of Dayton, Ohio. She holds certifications in New Jersey for Elementary School Teacher, Secondary School Counselor, and Substance Abuse Awareness Coordinator. Sister also is a certified spiritual director.
Presently, Sister Arlene is ministering in a variety of areas including spiritual direction, facilitation, seminars and workshops for parish staffs and individuals.
