
This workshop will discuss the current problem of plagiarism, along with piracy of software, movies, and music for the "download generation." Parents and teachers will be given methods to recognize when these problems occur, as well as a prescriptive approach to address them ― from both an educational and constructive perspective.
Presenter: Professor Steven G. Cameron is an Assistant Professor in the Communication Arts Department at Caldwell College. Professor Cameron’s articles, "Technology in the Classroom: Go Slow" and "The Effect of Technology on Aesthetics" appeared in Computer-Mediated Communication Magazine, and his handbook, Lighting Design for 3D, was published in 1999 by AutoDesk. He received his doctorate from Drew University, focusing on communication ethics. His dissertation, "Educating the Next Generations on the Ethical Consequences of Misusing Internet Intellectual Property," was awarded the Neal Riemer Prize, as a creative breakthroughfor an issue of social concern.
