Barry E. Vankat

Barry E. Vankat has more than 27 years experience in the commercial banking industry. Barry began his career with New Jersey Bank in West Paterson NJ. New Jersey Bank, through merger, became Midlantic Bank, and again through merger today is PNC Bank. Throughout these several bank name changes, Barry rose from an entry level position to become manager of the government banking department. In 1998, Barry joined First Union Bank, in Summit, NJ in government and institutional banking. Today Barry serves as a Senior Vice President in government and institutional banking at Wachovia Bank, a Wells Fargo Company. Barry’s responsibilities include all financial aspects of government and institutional relationships in several northern New Jersey counties.

Barry has played in and supported the Caldwell College Golf and Tennis Tournament since 1999. Barry has been tournament chairman since 2004, raising several hundred thousand dollars for college scholarships.

Barry is a board member of the New Jersey Redevelopment Authority, a state redevelopment financing authority committed to revitalizing urban New Jersey

Barry is a past president and current member of the board of governors of the Bond Club of New Jersey, an association of financial professionals throughout New Jersey.

As leisure activities, Barry enjoys golf, travel, reading and spending time with his family at the Jersey Shore.

Barry earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration, with a minor in Economics from Montclair State University. Additionally, Barry earned a certificate from Rutgers University as a Certified Municipal Finance Officer in the State of New Jersey.
