Since the beginning of time, dance has been the expression of love, joy and passion. The first human beings danced to celebrate life and nourish their spirituality. Before there were written languages, human danced to tell stories and myths. When body movements blend into the melodies, the dancer can communicate in a universal language, which has been used throughout the millennia.
Desiring to appreciate the values of dancing, to learn from each other, and to enjoy our passion, Dance Essence was formed in 2006. As a relatively new club, we are always looking forward to welcoming new members to the group and thus, creating endurable friendships. Even though we are an all-girl club for now, we expect that male students would join us, participate actively and help improve our dance routine. We mainly dance to contemporary music and practice weekly in order to deliver stunning performances every semester. Contact us at the SGA office, located in the Newman Center. Our office hour is from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Tuesdays.
