SUMMER COLLEGE AT CALDWELL

Summer College at Caldwell (SCAC) is a program designed for current high school juniors will be seniors in the fall of 2012 (Class of 2013) that provides the opportunity to earn three college credits while studying science, medicine and math. This unique opportunity also incorporates SAT test taking strategies, academic field trips, and a taste of the college experience, with students meeting new friends while living on the Caldwell College campus. The program includes room and board, books, supplies and field trips.

Precollege Three-Credit Program

The three-week program, July 8 – 27, offers selected students the opportunity to experience courses taught by Caldwell College faculty in a small class environment. Students will

• Study biology, chemistry, environmental science and statistics

• Green reactions, Medicine and Vectors

• Participate in SAT test-taking strategy sessions

• Attend academic field trips, including the Thomas Edison Museum, Liberty Science Center and Meadowlands Environmental Center & Pontoon Ride. We’ve even found a way to incorporate math into a NJ Jackals baseball game that will be shared by students, and Caldwell College faculty and staff!

Upon successful completion of the program, students will earn three college credits that will transfer to most colleges and universities.

Students will have the opportunity to attend workshops, College 101, that will assist them in understanding the college search process including financial aid, scholarship exploration and career counseling. Parents/guardians will also be able to experience workshops about the college search and financial aid in a relaxed setting with other families who will also be going through this same process.
