


New Program: An 18 Credit Graduate Certificate Program in Pastoral Ministry
For people in ministry who would benefit personally or professionally from a basic Pastoral Ministry program, Caldwell College is now offering a certificate program. Students choosing to earn a certificate would be required to take 5 core courses and one elective.
The Core Program includes:
PM 505 Issues in Ecclesiology (3)
PM 520 Old Testament Survey (3) or PM 522 The Synoptic Gospels
PM 639 Theological Foundations (3)
PM 640 Liturgy in a Developing Church (3)
PM 760 Common Good, Uncommon Questions: Moral Issues (3).
Elective Courses (choose the equivalent of 3 Credits):
PM 512 Organizing as Ministry (3)
PM 617 Psychological Aspects of Ministry (3)
PM 650 Sacramental Theology (3)
PM 662 Ministry for Youth (1)
PM 664 Ministry to the Grieving (1)
PM 721 Catechetics: Forming the Faith of the Community (3)
PM 786 When the Laity Preach and Preside (2)
PM 622 Nonprofit Law, Governance and Financial Management (3)
PM 628 Marketing, Public Relations and Administration in Nonprofit Organizations

Requirements and cost of credit would be the same as for our Master’s Degree.
Caldwell College awards a 25% discount for students employed full time in ministry or who volunteer for a significant number of hours in ministry. A letter from one’s pastor or supervisor is required, each year. Beyond registration, no other fees are required.
Requirements:
- GPA 3.0
- Official undergraduate/graduate transcripts
- Minimum of two years of ministerial experience
- Three letters of recommendation from a pastor, religious superior, supervisor, someone familiar with the applicant’s work history, a colleague.
- A 550 word essay reflecting one’s goals in ministry and desire to be admitted to this program.
