Teen Arts Jam to be held at Caldwell College

The Visceglia Gallery at Caldwell College proudly presents its sixth annual Teen Arts Jam, which will run from Thursday, Feb. 10 through Wednesday, March 2, 2011. A wide range of artwork from area high school students will be on display, including photography, sculpture, still life, portraiture, assemblage, figure drawing, ceramics and DVD presentations. Caldwell’s Teen Arts Jam advances students' ideas and skills in the visual arts and provides an opportunity for them to share their work with the community.

“We're very excited about the upcoming Jam and delighted that so many art programs are participating.” said Kendall Baker, director of the Visceglia Gallery and a fine arts professor at Caldwell College. “These students take their work very seriously, and their teachers clearly provide so much support and inspiration for their efforts.”

A panel of professional artists will judge the artwork and select the winners, who will receive prizes including art supplies from Jerry’s Art Outlet and six Caldwell College scholarship awards of $1000 each for students who choose to attend.

The Visceglia Gallery will host a reception in the Gallery for the young artists, their teachers and supporters from 6 - 8 p.m. at the conclusion of the Jam on Wednesday, March 2.

The Visceglia Gallery, located on Caldwell College’s campus, is a multi-arts educational center dedicated to bringing a wide range of creative, educational and culturally enriching programs to diverse audiences throughout the northern New Jersey area. The Gallery is open to the public daily from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission is free.
