Caldwell College will present a lecture entitled Focus on Sicily – We are All Greeks, focusing on aspects of Sicilian history and culture.
We are All Greeks, will be presented on Friday, January 28, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. followed by dinner. Back by popular demand, Gaetano Salemi, a native Sicilian and expert tour guide for NIAF, will continue his overview of the history of Sicily. Last year, Gaetano presented on heros & antiheroes of the last 200 years in Sicily. This year, he will return to the belief that what the great civilization of Sicily became was based on its Greek foundation.
The lecture is being sponsored by Caldwell College, The Italian Teachers Association of New Jersey, and Graphic Imagery, Inc. The lecture will be held in the Caldwell College Alumni Theater. The cost of the lecture is $48 and will include a Sicilian dinner after the program and the opportunity to continue the conversation with Dr. Salemi.
The lecture is open to the public and a wonderful way to network with others with interests in Italian/Sicilian culture. New Jersey Italian teachers can earn three professional hours for attending the program.
Admission is $48 including dinner or $40 without dinner. To register in advance, please call Dr. Sally Jo Weber (973) 618-3397.
