New Pastoral Ministry Certificate Offered at Caldwell College

Students Can Take Advantage of Convenient Saturday Classes

The Department of Theology and Pastoral Ministry at Caldwell College is offering a new Graduate Certificate Program in Pastoral Ministry to better educate lay men and women to work in ministry in the Roman Catholic Church.

The 18 credit certificate program features a firm foundation in Scripture and Theology with the option to take a course related to one’s ministerial focus or need including Church Administration, Youth Ministry, Bereavement, Catechetics and Preaching for the Non-Ordained.

“This is a terrific opportunity for men and women who are currently working in ministry and want to deepen their understanding of their faith. It is also a very good program for lay people who are looking towards a career change that would take them into church ministry,” said Sister Barbara Moore, O.P., coordinator of the Pastoral Ministry program. She said the program is also a good option for those who would benefit from graduate foundational studies or those who need an update in the areas of Scripture and Theology.

“Students currently in the program say they appreciate most the personal spiritual insights they gain from reflecting along with other student-companions,” Sister Barbara said.

The program is offered for six Saturdays each semester spread out over the fall or spring seasons from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Accumulated graduate credit could be applied to the Master’s program in Pastoral Ministry if a student met the requirements.
