CALDWELL COLLEGE PRESENTS PRESIDENT’S AWARD TO WACHOVIA BANK AND
JOSEPH AND BARBARA BOCK
2007 Black Tie Dinner a Successful Benefit for College’s Scholarship Fund
Caldwell College honored Wachovia Bank and Joseph and Barbara Bock with its 2007 President’s Award.
Caldwell College President Sister Patrice Werner, O.P., Ph.D., presented the awards at the 32nd Annual Presidential Scholarship Gala on Friday April 27, 2007 at Mayfair Farms in West Orange, New Jersey.
The annual event surpassed its goal and is on track to raise over $225,000 to benefit the College’s scholarship fund, which enables students in need to pursue their educational and professional goals.
Sister Patrice said Wachovia Bank has been dedicated to Caldwell College for many years. "We are grateful for Wachovia's philanthropic initiatives, which have benefited the students of Caldwell College, and for Wachovia executives' volunteer leadership."
Lucia DiNapoli Gibbons, regional president of Wachovia accepted the award on Wachovia’s behalf. Gibbons provides executive leadership to all Wachovia general bank activities related to retail, commercial and small business banking operations in Northern New Jersey, which includes Hudson, Bergen, Essex, Passaic, Morris, Union, Somerset, Hunterdon, Warren and Sussex Counties. She was a recipient of the Executive Women of New Jersey’s “Salute to the Policy Makers” award in 2000; recognized by Business News-“New Jersey’s 40 Under 40” and the Star Ledger’s “New Jersey 10”, the state’s ten most powerful women in business.
Joseph and Barbara Bock of Phillipsburg, NJ, were honored with the President's Award for consistently supporting Caldwell College and introducing others to the richness and tradition of the Catholic college founded by the Sisters of St. Dominic of Caldwell. Sister Patrice said, "Joseph and Barbara, our benefactors for decades, have attended countless ceremonies and fund raising events in support of the mission of Caldwell College. They have led by example with their gifts of time and talent and have set a standard for other members of the College community.”
Mr. Bock is Of Counsel with Florio Perrucci Steinhardt & Fader and the most senior member of the firm’s Labor and Employment Group. He was previously a Senior Vice President at American Home Products Corporation.
The Gala black-tie evening featured a cocktail hour, followed by dinner and dancing to the Silver Starlite Orchestra. Festivities also included a Silent Auction
Michael Quigley, Partner at Castano Quigley, LLC, was honorary chair of the Gala.
Barry Vankat, Senior Vice President, Government Banking for Wachovia and
Hon. Gregory J. Castano, Partner at Castano Quigley, LLC were the co-chairs.
