
Caldwell College invites the public to a viewing of the documentary The Calling which explores the nature of belief, the bonds of family, and the joys and anxieties of those who are drawn to religious life. Winner of this year’s Best International Documentary award at the 7th annual Queens International Film Festival, The Calling follows Orlando Castillo, a young man who embraces religious life, and the members of Catholic community who aid the poor in Lima, Peru.
Director/Producer/Cinematographer David A. Ranghelli will speak at the screening , which will take place on April 14, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. in the Alumni Theatre on the Caldwell College campus.
The film has been an Official Selection at numerous film festivals, including Gasparilla International, Breckenridge, and the Chicago Latino Film Festival.
David A. Ranghelli is a New York based filmmaker who has worked for HBO, PBS, NFL Films, and National Geographic, to name a few. The Calling marks his directorial debut.
