Caldwell College to Host Alumni Excellence Veritas Awards
Caldwell College will host its 27th Veritas Awards Dinner at the Essex Fells Country Club in Essex Fells, N.J., 6 p.m. Friday, March 23. The Veritas Award is the highest honor the college bestows on its alumni for their professional excellence in many fields.

Caldwell College Annual Craft Fair to be held november 19
The 37th annual Caldwell College Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Student Center gym. The fair will feature quality crafts including wood, stained glass, pottery, hand-knit and crocheted items, jewelry and elegant seasonal gifts. There will also be a gift auction and raffles.

Caldwell College Sponsors Clothesline Project to Honor Survivors and Victims of Intimate Violence
The Caldwell College Counseling Services office will sponsor the Clothesline Project to honor survivors and victims of intimate violence on Wednesday November 16 from 11:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. in the Hall of Flags on campus. Anyone who has experienced such violence is encouraged to come forward and design a t-shirt. Victims’ families and friends are also invited to participate. The project will also be on display in the Alumni Theatre from November 14 to 18.

Theatre in Motion comes to Caldwell College
Theatre in Motion, a company that casts actors with disabilities cast alongside artists without disabilities, will give a free performance and workshop open to the public at Caldwell College on November 15, 2011 at 7 p.m. in the Student Center Gym.

Flutist John McMurtery to Perform at Caldwell College
Flutist John McMurtery will perform at the Caldwell College Alumni Theatre on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 8 p.m. Mr. Murtery is section flutist of the New York City Opera and principal flutist with the Opera Orchestra of New York. In addition, he performs regularly with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, and the New Jersey Symphony.

Caldwell College Poetry Project Students to Sponsor Reading
Caldwell College students in Dr. Mary Ann Miller’s Introduction to Poetry course will culminate workshops led by authors Gail Fishman Gerwin and Dr. Christine Redman-Waldeyer by hosting a reading by the poets from their books on Thursday, November 17, at 6:30 p.m. at the Caldwell Public Library, 268 Bloomfield Avenue.

Caldwell Alumna to Prep Students for Upcoming Career Fair
Caldwell, NJ – September 30, 2011 Recent Caldwell College graduate, Destiny Oquendo, will be on hand on Wednesday, October 5th from noon until 2 p.m. to help students prepare for the upcoming First Opportunity Job Fair on October 13th in Livingston, NJ. Ms. Oquendo, who graduated in May with a B.S. in Business Management, and is currently a recruiting specialist with Farmers' Insurance, Parsippany, will provide advice to students on presenting themselves to potential employers, creating a 30-second elevator pitch, and writing an effective resume. This drop-in session will be held in the Student Center Conference Room and will be repeated from 5 to 6 p.m.with representatives from the Career Planning and Development Office.

Caldwell College Marketing Club to Host Social Media & Marketing Presentation
Caldwell, NJ – September 29, 2011 The Marketing Club at Caldwell College will host a presentation with the Innovators Group on Wednesday October 5th at 6 p.m. The Innovators Group is a new business venture started by several Caldwell College alumni. The presentation will focus on the impact of social media with regards to marketing and global business. The group will also discuss how networking sites such as Facebook and Linked-In are shaping how business is conducted today and will be conducted in the future.

New Jersey State Teacher of the Year to Speak at Caldwell College
Caldwell, NJ – September 26, 2011 - New Jersey’s 2011 State Teacher of the Year Danielle Kovach will speak at Caldwell College on the rewards and challenges of teaching in the 21st century classroom. The talk will take place on Tuesday October 4, 2011 at 7:00 PM in the lecture hall in Werner hall on campus. It is free and open to the public.

Visceglia Gallery at Caldwell College Presents Eclectic “Off the Wall” Exhibition
Caldwell, NJ – August3, 2011 – The Visceglia Gallery is pleased to present “Off The Wall”, a group exhibition of artists that explore a variety of possibilities in the making of artwork that projects from or relates to the walls and floors. Coming from diverse references to space, form and color, and with very distinct studio processes, they share an excitement for discovery and transformation. Caldwell College “Put Stress to Rest Fair” is being held on Wednesday, May 4, 2011, in the Newman Center Courtyard from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. (rain location: Student Center Gymnasium). Join the Caldwell College community at it honors two distinguished professionals at the 36th Annual Presidential Scholarship Gala on Friday, April 29 at Mayfair Farms in West Orange. The reception will begin at 6 p.m. with dinner to follow. This year’s honorees are Michele Adubato, M.A. ’03, Executive Director of The North Ward Center in Newark and Kathleen DiChiara, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Community FoodBank of New Jersey.

The Caldwell College Choir embarked on its first choir tour this semester, visiting churches throughout Essex County and blessing their congregations with beautiful choral singing. On Sunday, February 27, the choir performed at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Montclair.

Diane Moser Quintet Jazz concert – Feb. 25
The Diane Moser Quintet will perform an evening of jazz music at Caldwell College on Friday, Feb. 25. The concert will feature music from their recording “Looking Forward, Looking Back,” Moser’s film score from the award winning documentary “Breaking Boundaries: The Art of Alex Masket.”

Teen Arts Jam to be held at Caldwell College
The Visceglia Gallery at Caldwell College proudly presents its sixth annual Teen Arts Jam, which will run from Thursday, Feb. 10 through Wednesday, March 2, 2011. A wide range of artwork from area high school students will be on display, including photography, sculpture, still life, portraiture, assemblage, figure drawing, ceramics and DVD presentations.

10th Annual Art Therapy Conference to Celebrate the Art and Science of Art Therapy
The Art and Science of Art Therapy, the 10th annual Art Therapy Conference at Caldwell College, will be held on Saturday April 9, 2011 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Co-sponsored by the Art Therapy Programs at Caldwell College and the New Jersey Art Therapy Association, the day will feature numerous workshops and forums with art therapy professionals from New Jersey and surrounding states. This conference is the largest of its kind in the state.

STAFF COUNCIL SPONSORS HOLIDAY DOOR DECORATING CONTEST
On Tuesday December 7, 2010, the Caldwell College Staff Council hosted a Holiday Door Decorating Contest. The response was overwhelmingly positive. There were over fourteen entries. The contest was judged by an esteemed panel of judges, Nancy Blattner, Heather Eaton-Dwyer, Meghan Moran, and student representative, Dan (Bubba) Gaffney. The judges were impressed with the entries and had a very difficult decision. After much deliberation, The Library and The Education Department were chosen as the winners.

Students and Staff Learn about Fair Trade in Ghana
The Educational Opportunity Fund and Department of Women’s Studies co-sponsored a lecture by Kuapa Kokoo, a cooperative organization that was created in Ghana to help the cocoa farmers compete with private companies in the multi-million dollar chocolate business.

The Caldwell College Psychology Department will hold a Counseling Conference aimed at exposing students to different areas of Psychology on Saturday, October 23rd at 9 a.m. Students should arrive between 8:30 a.m and 9 a.m for registration and coffee. Students will have 3 workshop options to choose from for the 10 a.m session.

Mood Check-ups To Be Held On Campus
The Caldwell College Counseling Office is partnering with the Mental Health Association of Essex County to conduct depression screenings - mood check-ups on campus on Wednesday, October 6 from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Screenings are open to all students, staff and faculty and will be held in the upper lounge of the Student Center Cafeteria.

“Art From the Inside Out” Exhibit by Artists on the Autism Spectrum
The Visceglia Gallery at Caldwell College is proud to present Art From the Inside Out, a group exhibition with works by artists on the autism spectrum beginning October 18 and running through November 12. This exciting exhibition will feature over 40 paintings, collage works, and drawings.

Belmont Magic Show Cancelled
“A Soul's Work” Exhibit: The Celebration of the Life and Works of Sister Gerardine Mueller, O.P.
The Visceglia Gallery at Caldwell College opens its fall season September 8th with the exhibit “A Soul’s Work: The Celebration of the Life and Works of Sister Gerardine Mueller, O.P.” The exhibit will run through October 4th. A special reception featuring a video of Sister’s life and works will be held on Saturday September 25th from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. The exhibit will mark the beginning of a year of a campus-wide art celebration that will culminate with Sister’s 90th birthday in September of 2011.

Caldwell College will host the Annual Homecoming Event in honor of Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom (OEF/OIF) Veterans on Saturday, August 14 from 10 a.m.to 2 p.m., on the college campus at 120 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell, NJ.
