Caldwell College Dedicates New State of the Art Apartment Style

Dominican Hall "Stands as a Testimony to History"

Caldwell College alumni, supporters, faculty, staff and students attended a special Mass and celebration on Saturday September 29 to dedicate Domincan Hall, the college's new apartment style residence hall. At the ribbon cutting ceremony, Sister Arlene Antczak, O.P., Prioress of the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Caldwell, said, "The name Dominican Hall stands as a testimony to the history of the Order and of the Caldwell Dominicans," and she said she believed that Caldwell College would continue to bring the "Dominican charism to the next generation."

Caldwell College President Sister Patrice Werner, O.P., Ph.D. said the dedication was held during Homecoming weekend because Caldwell has always wanted its alumni to feel that the college is their "second home." She said the new residence hall has a "true physical impact," but more importantly symbolizes the energy and tradition of all who have come before and those who have been benefactors of the project. She said she was truly appreciative to "all those who have contributed to make this day and the residence hall a success and a reality."

Chair of the Board Steve Freeman said the difference can already be felt on campus. "More students in residence translates to a busier, more vibrant campus."

Most Revered Thomas A. Donato, D.D. of the Archdiocese of Newark and Reverend Albert Berner, Caldwell College’s Chaplain were presiders at the Mass.
