Caldwell, N.J —April 24, 2015—The Caldwell University Music Department will host a spring concert featuring performances from the University Chorale and Wind Ensemble on Monday May 4 at 8 p.m.. The concert will feature a wide variety of music including several works by women composers.

The University Chorale, directed by Dr. Laura Greenwald, will perform an assortment of songs ranging from Palestrina to Pop, along with inspirational selections of gospel, spirituals, and jazz.

The Wind Ensemble, directed by Professor Rebecca Vega, will perform Eric Whitacre’s Ghost Train and Samuel Hazo’s Blue and Green Music (based on a painting by Georgia O’Keefe), in addition to works by Jennifer Higdon, Gustav Holst, and Julie Giroux. Several of the pieces will be conducted by students in Professor Vega’s Instrumental Rehearsal Techniques course.

The concert will be held in the Student Center and is free and open to the public.
