Caldwell Student Receives Student Teacher of the Year Award

Caldwell College recent graduate Nicole Scimone of Cedar Grove, New Jersey has been selected for the 2009 New Jersey Distinguished Student Teacher Award, which is sponsored by the NJ Department of Education. Scimone graduated from Caldwell College in December 2008 with a Bachelor of the Arts (BA) degree in English with a Secondary Education certification. She student taught 9th and 10th grade in fall 2008 at Verona High School. An independent panel of esteemed New Jersey educators evaluated dossiers from all over the state and selected 15 award recipients in New Jersey for the student teacher award. The winners were selected by eight outstanding educators reflecting a broad cross section of the teaching profession.
